This place was such a disappointment. The first impression is always important but this place had such a bad first impression. The restaurant is located inside Avalon Hotel and the hotel is a bit hard to find since it's It's in the residential area. When we got there, there was nobody in the front even though that the sigh said complementary valet parking for restaurant guest. We had 6 p.m. reservation on Sunday and the restaurant was almost empty when we got there. The restaurant had inside and outside seating and all guests that night were seated outside area by the pool. When we got there, there were screaming kids in the pool and I felt really uncomfortable. The restaurant should not be open when there are people swimming in the pool. The food was okay considering we had a good Travelzoo deal ($69 for 4 course meal with a bottle of wine for two). The bottle of wine was awful; it tasted like $5 bottle of wine from a grocery store. I would rather preferred a glass of nice wine instead of a cheap bottle of wine. I like some of the appetizers but overall, nothing was special and I would never come back here to pay the full amount for the quality of food they serve.The ambiance of the restaurant was also very uncomfortable. The restaurant was decorated nicely but I felt like the hotel looked like it used to be an apartment and they just renovated to look like a nice boutique hotel. I just felt this strange vibe from this hotel. The only thing it was good was the service; the server was very nice. But, I would never recommend this place nor would come back to this place ever again.
